Music - Facilities


The Glee Club in Salter HallThe Music Department facilities are located in the Fine Arts Center, which is home to Art, Music, Rhetoric, and Theater.

The music wing begins in Littell Lobby, a multipurpose space with a glass-wall view of the college arboretum. It serves as the lobby for the Lewis S. Salter Concert Hall, home for musical performances. The hall seats 275, and is the regular venue for College ensembles, student and faculty recitals, and world-class performances for the College's annual Visiting Artist Series.

Adjacent to Salter Hall is the 92-seat Korb Classroom equipped with complete media access. The music wing includes small, medium, and large classrooms equipped with instructional media technology, applied music studios, practice rooms, instrument storage, green room and meeting facilities, faculty studios, and staff offices.Korb Classroom

A wide variety of instruments are available for instruction and performance, including Bösendorfer and Steinway concert pianos, classroom and practice room pianos, a Dowd harpsichord, and a three manual pipe organ (located in Pioneer Chapel).

Electronic Music Studio

The Computer Assisted Music Exploration Lab (CAMEL) includes music notation and ear training software with Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) keyboards. The Electronic Music Studio (EMS) includes a classroom space equipped for teaching and learning electronic music, and an acoustically designed, well-equipped studio for advanced individual projects and instruction.
