Board of Trustees

Select up to one of the alumni listed below to serve on the Board of Trustees for a four-year term, 2025-2029.

  • Munawar (“Mun”) Ali ’93 majored in economics and mathematics at Wabash and is a passionate advocate for education, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship, with a career that spans multiple continents and industries. In 2021, as part of Wabash’s Giant Steps Campaign, Ali led the establishment of the Walter A. Blake Scholarship Fund in honor of his mentor and one of the College’s longest-serving admissions leaders. In 2023, he played a pivotal role in a first-of-its-kind reunion for international alumni. While at Wabash, he was a resident assistant, leader of the International Student Association, and a member of the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies, contributing to tutoring programs and supporting student recruitment through his work-study role with admissions and student services. He continues to mentor students and provides opportunities for Wabash interns. Professionally, Ali is a 30-year veteran of the insurance industry. In 2011, he sold the brokerage and underwriting company he built to Amwins Group Inc., the largest global insurance intermediary. Since then, he has led and grown one of their largest operating companies to $1B+ in revenue. He is currently the head of product development and strategic capacity at Amwins. Ali, his wife Maura, and their children reside in Park Ridge, Illinois, where they founded the Amina Grace Memorial Fund in 2014 in memory of their daughter. This fund provides resources to organizations globally that support those with Down Syndrome and other differing abilities while promoting acceptance and inclusion. Originally from Bangladesh, Ali’s rise to an impactful leader is a testament to his belief in the transformative power of a Wabash education, free enterprise, and perseverance.

  • Brian Flanigan ’96 is managing partner of Perimeter Health Advisors, LLC. He joined Deloitte Consulting as a business analyst after graduating from Wabash summa cum laude in 1996. He was Deloitte Consulting’s U.S. M&A practice leader for five years before becoming global lead consulting partner and also served as Deloitte’s U.S. Go-To-Market leader for health care and life sciences. He also served as a venture partner and senior advisor to Foresite Capital, a $6 billion investment fund, and president of Flipt, a pharmacy cloud-based product company. Flanigan served two terms on the NAWM Board, was a member of the Presidential Search Committee in 2006, and spent time revitalizing the professional development office. Flanigan is active in College recruiting efforts and endowed the Flanigan Family Scholarship, awarded annually to a student in need. Flanigan’s interest in serving on the Board of Trustees is to enable the continuation of the unique liberal arts mission of the College and to actively support the development of our next generation of global leaders. He received his MBA from the Wharton School in 2001, in strategic management, finance, and health care. Flanigan and his wife, Katie, live in Winnetka, Illinois, with their children, Andrew, Joshua, and Chloe.

  • Rhenwick Young ’77 earned his bachelor’s from Wabash as a political science major, received a MBA in finance and managerial economics from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1979, and took part in Marathon Petroleum’s advanced management program at Indiana University in 1994. He was a three-year member of the College’s basketball team, and a member of the Pre-Law Club, Student Senate Activities Committee and Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies. Young’s nearly 35-year career with Marathon included managerial responsibilities in treasury, auditing, capital budgeting, financial forecasting, financial analysis, and business development. In retirement, he has provided organizational leadership as vice president and president of Marathon’s Findlay, Ohio, Area Annuitants. Young is an active supporter of Northwestern University, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana, LifeCare Alliance, Firefighters for Kids Toy Drive, and Dublin Food Pantry. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, watching all types of sporting events, and reading current event articles. Young and his wife, Jayne, have three daughters and live in Dublin, Ohio.

    John Castro is an institutional stock broker and a managing director at Fog Equities. He was raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, and attended Mount Carmel 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@ School. He found his way to Wabash via a recruiting visit by one of the football coaches and enjoyed his time in Crawfordsville as a member of Beta Theta Pi, the Sphinx Club, the wrestling, soccer and football teams, and during a semester abroad in Valencia, Spain. After graduating, Castro spent a brief stint as a substitute Spanish teacher and as a First Mate aboard a dinner cruise ship in Lake Michigan before finding himself on the floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange as a runner, a clerk, and finally an Institutional stock broker. In 2018, he made the move to Fog Equities, a Chicago based stock brokerage, where he has worked ever since. It took some time to get involved as an alum, but once he did, he was “all in,” finding various ways to mentor current students, speak at various events on campus, and help recruit the next generation of Wabash men. He is excited to develop relationships with La Alianza, Director of Latino Partnerships Julio Enriquez-Ornelas, and Assistant Director Coach Chris Keller. Castro is honored to have received both the Alumni Admissions and Career Services Fellow awards from the NAWM. He is passionate about Wabash and its mission, and is honored to be involved in any way possible. He currently resides in Munster, Indiana, with his wife Renée and daughters Elisa and Lucia.  He serves as an elected member of the Town of Munster Board of School Trustees, a soccer coach, and a member of the finance committee for his high school alma mater. 

  • Brian Clem ’04 currently serves as president of Oak Street Health, now part of CVS Health, a value-based primary care provider for patients on Medicare. Clem joined Oak Street in 2015, where he led the growth and scaling of its operations from seven primary care centers in Chicago to more than 230 facilities across the country while generating industry-leading outcomes for its patients. This growth and performance led to Oak Street Health's successful IPO in 2020 and eventual sale to CVS Health in 2023. Clem also serves on the boards of Eleanor Health and Athletico and is an advisor to Hello Heart. He earned his BA at Wabash and his MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. At Wabash, Clem was an economics major, an officer of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and a member of the Sons of Wabash. He credits Wabash with being transformative in his life, which fuels his great appreciation and strong desire to contribute to the College’s ongoing mission. Clem lives in Zionsville, Indiana, with his wife, Allison, and their two sons, Andrew and Michael.

  • Ben Grisemer ’88 sells jet engines to commercial airlines for GE Aerospace. He grew up in Hinsdale, Illinois, and came to Wabash to play football. He stayed because of the support, friendships, and expectations that Wabash gives to and expects from each student. After a year teaching advanced placement physics at Culver Academies and three years selling business systems at IBM in Indianapolis, Grisemer earned a dual engineering and business master’s degree from the McCormick and Kellogg Schools at Northwestern University. Building on his operations experience at IBM, he joined the steelcraft division of MascoTech in Blue Ash, Ohio, in 1994, where he supervised brake-forming, roll-forming, and distribution processes; built collaborative bonds with his United Steelworker team members; and led the implementation of Lean Manufacturing across the division. Since joining GE in 1999, Grisemer has worked with and learned from airline partners in Asia, China, the Americas, and Europe. For the last 12 years, he has led cross-functional teams selling to and supporting major US-based airlines. Since 2023, he has mentored Wabash men, regularly meeting CIBE students. Grisemer lives in Glendale, Ohio, with his wife, Jennifer Pendergast.

  • Pat Kenney ’18 is the vice president at F.A. Wilhelm Construction in Indianapolis, where he oversees the flooring and finish carpentry divisions. Kenney graduated from Scecina Memorial 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@ School before pursuing a degree at Wabash majoring in physics. His interest in Wabash grew as he visited his brother, Vince ’13, which sparked a deeper connection to the institution and its culture. During his time at Wabash, Kenney was an active member of Sigma Chi fraternity and volunteered with College Mentors for Kids—experiences that left a lasting impression and inspired his commitment to giving back to the Wabash community. He is passionate about helping to shape the future for the next generation of Wabash men. Kenney resides in Indianapolis with his wife, Becca, and their children, Jameson and Lena.

    Byron Lamm ’79 is the managing partner of the Pin Oak Group, LLC and Somerset Farms, LLC in Fort Wayne, Indiana, asset management and investment partnerships. He was a founder of the State Policy Network and served as their executive director and president. He is a former trustee of the Canterbury School, where he is the school’s tennis coach and serves on the Community Advisory Board. He has also been a director of the Medical Protective Company in Fort Wayne, the Roe Foundation in Greenville, South Carolina, the State Policy Network, PERC in Bozeman, Montana, Center for Education Reform in Washington, D.C., Anthony Wayne Services, and the Fort Wayne Boys and Girls Club’s Community Advisory Board. Both of his sons are Wabash men; Davis ’20 and Merritt ’22. Lamm is active in the Wabash Club of Fort Wayne and a member of the Board of Directors. He recently served a term as vice president.

  • Brian Parks ’18 is a MBA candidate at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, specializing in marketing and entrepreneurship. He is the president of the Real Estate Club and a member of the Consumer Marketing Academy. The former football captain at Wabash majored in financial mathematics with a minor in theatre. His professional experience includes marketing, consulting, and healthcare operations. At Johnson & Johnson, he helped unify neuro products under a single platform, increasing surgeon awareness by 25% and contributed to market share growth through strategic branding. As a consultant for Business Botswana in Africa, he led marketing strategies that boosted engagement and had a revenue potential of $3.6 million. Before business school, Parks spent five years at IU Health in various roles including securing grants for community development programs, optimizing hospital operations, and leading telehealth initiatives that improved the health of Indiana's patients. His work in government affairs also led to community impact initiatives improving education and workforce development. Parks is passionate about leveraging data-driven marketing and strategic problem-solving to drive business success and impact communities for the better.

    Cahmelan Porter ’14 is the director of marketing and brand strategy at Downtown Indy, Inc., where he leads initiatives to elevate the city’s brand and community engagement efforts. At Wabash, Porter was a dedicated member of the football team and the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies, where he developed a passion for cultural advocacy and strategic storytelling. His experiences at Wabash College shaped his professional path, leading him to work with prominent cultural institutions such as GangGang Inc. and community organizations like People for Urban Progress. Through these roles, he has championed initiatives that celebrate diversity, creativity, and urban development. Porter is deeply committed to fostering inclusive opportunities and strengthening Indianapolis’ cultural landscape. He continues to drive impactful brand strategies that highlight the city’s artistic and civic identity. Porter resides in Indianapolis, where he remains actively engaged in community and cultural growth.

    Andy Wilkinson ’83 recently retired after a 40-year career with OneAmerica Financial. He was senior vice president, institutional products and led the company’s successful launch of several new retirement products and services. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. While at Wabash, Wilkinson majored in mathematics and economics, was treasurer of Beta Theta Pi, served as the yearbook editor, and graduated magna cum laude. He has been an active Wabash alumnus—attending events, consistently supporting the College financially, and maintaining friendships with classmates. Wilkinson grew up and lived on the east side of Indianapolis for much of his adult life and now lives on Lamb Lake in Trafalgar, Indiana, with his wife, Angie. They have five adult children and four grandchildren. He is an active leader in his church and community and has been a Scouting America (BSA) leader in central Indiana as a board member, Cubmaster, and Scoutmaster. Two of his scouts are recent Wabash graduates.
